01Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Multiforgex Solutions Private Limited, a company incorporated in India ("Multiforgex", "we", "us" or "our"), the developer and owner of ForgeScan, governing your use of the ForgeScan mobile application (the "App") and the website at forgescan.com (together, the "Services").
By downloading, installing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use ForgeScan. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
03Licence to use the app
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business purposes.
You may not:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App;
- decompile, reverse-engineer or disassemble the App, except where the law expressly permits it;
- rent, lease, sell, sublicense or redistribute the App;
- remove, block or interfere with advertisements or any copyright or proprietary notices;
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to interact with the App or its ads.
Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
04Your content
You own the documents, images, text and other material you scan, import, create or translate with ForgeScan ("Your Content"). We claim no ownership of Your Content, and because it is processed and stored on your device, we do not have access to it.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for making sure you have the right to scan, copy, store, translate and share it.
05Acceptable use
You agree not to use ForgeScan to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation;
- infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights of anyone, including by copying copyrighted books or materials without permission;
- forge, counterfeit or alter identity documents, currency, certificates, cheques or official records;
- create QR codes or barcodes that lead to malware, phishing, scams or other harmful content;
- capture images of people or confidential information without the consent required by law;
- harass, defraud or harm any person.
06OCR & translation accuracy
Text recognition and machine translation are automated and can make mistakes, especially with handwriting, low light, unusual fonts or specialised vocabulary.
Results are provided for convenience only. Always review extracted text and translations before relying on them. Do not rely on ForgeScan as your only source for legal, medical, financial, immigration, safety-critical or other important decisions; consult a qualified professional or certified translator where accuracy matters.
07QR codes & links
When you scan a QR code or barcode, ForgeScan displays its content and may offer to open a link, join a Wi-Fi network, save a contact or perform a similar action. We do not control the content of codes created by others. Check a link before opening it, and be careful with codes from unknown sources. We are not responsible for websites, networks or content reached through scanned codes.
08Advertising
ForgeScan is free and supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. Ads are provided by third-party advertisers, and we do not endorse and are not responsible for the products, services or claims they promote. Any dealings you have with advertisers are solely between you and them. Learn more about advertising choices in our Privacy Policy.
09Third-party services
The App uses services provided by third parties, including Google ML Kit, Google AdMob, Firebase and Google Play services, and the text-to-speech engine on your device. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of third-party services, including downloads of translation language models.
10Intellectual property
The App, the website and all related software, design, graphics, logos, the name "ForgeScan" and other content (excluding Your Content) are owned by Multiforgex Solutions Private Limited or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our name, logo or trademarks without our written permission.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them freely without any obligation to you.
11Storage & backups
ForgeScan stores documents on your device only and does not provide cloud backup. You are responsible for exporting and backing up any documents you want to keep. Uninstalling the App, clearing its storage, resetting or losing your device will permanently delete documents stored inside the App. We cannot recover lost data.
12Updates & availability
We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and some updates may be required to keep using the App. We may suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
13Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or free of harmful components.
14Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Multiforgex Solutions Private Limited and its directors, employees, affiliates and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, documents, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because ForgeScan is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed INR 1,000 (or the equivalent in your local currency). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Multiforgex Solutions Private Limited and its directors and employees from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
16Termination
You may stop using ForgeScan at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your licence to use the Services if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Your Content, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification and Governing Law — will survive.
17Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at info@multiforgex.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally within 30 days. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence, the courts of India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
18Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes we will provide notice within the App. By continuing to use the Services after changes take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
19General
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
- Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment: you may not transfer these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
