Yes. All features of ForgeScan are free to use. The app is supported by a small number of ads, which is how we keep it free without charging you or selling your data.
No account is needed. Scanning, text recognition and translation work offline. An internet connection is only used to download a translation language the first time, to show ads, and to check for app updates.
No. Your scans, extracted text and translations are processed and stored on your phone only. We do not operate any server that receives your documents.
PDFs and text files are saved to Downloads/ForgeScan. Images and QR codes are saved to your Gallery › ForgeScan album. You can also share any document directly from the app.
Text recognition supports Latin-script languages (English, Spanish, French, German and many more), Devanagari (Hindi, Marathi, Nepali), Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Translation covers 59 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Arabic and more.
Because nothing is stored in the cloud, uninstalling the app deletes documents stored inside ForgeScan. Files you already exported to Downloads or your Gallery remain on your phone. Export anything important before uninstalling or switching phones.
