01Summary
Your documents never leave your phone. Scanning, text recognition (OCR) and translation run entirely on your device. ForgeScan has no user accounts and no cloud storage, and we do not receive, view or store your scans, images, extracted text or translations.
ForgeScan does rely on a few Google services to show ads, report crashes, deliver notifications and download language models. Those services collect limited technical information about your device, described in Section 4. We do not sell your personal information.
02Who we are
ForgeScan is a mobile application for scanning documents, extracting text, translating text and scanning or creating QR codes and barcodes. ForgeScan is developed, owned and operated by Multiforgex Solutions Private Limited, a company incorporated in India ("Multiforgex", "we", "us" or "our"). Multiforgex is responsible for your information as described in this policy. This Privacy Policy applies to the ForgeScan Android app (package com.forgescan.app) and to this website.

03Data that stays on your device
The following information is created by you while using ForgeScan. It is processed and stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. It is never transmitted to us.
- Documents and images — photos you capture with the camera or import from your gallery, cropped and enhanced pages, and generated PDFs.
- Extracted text — text recognised from your images by on-device OCR, and the search index built from it.
- Translations — text you translate and the translated output.
- QR and barcode content — the content of codes you scan or create.
- Preferences — your theme, default recognition language, default translation language and similar settings.
Files you choose to export are saved to shared folders on your device (PDF and text files to Downloads/ForgeScan; images to Gallery › ForgeScan). When you use the share option, the file is handed to the app you select (for example email or a messaging app), and that app's own privacy policy applies from then on.
Read aloud: when you use text-to-speech, the text is passed to the speech engine installed on your device (for example Google Text-to-Speech). Depending on that engine's settings it may work offline or online.
04Data collected by third-party services
To keep the app free and reliable, ForgeScan includes the following software development kits (SDKs) provided by Google. These SDKs may collect the information listed below directly from your device. None of them receive your documents or extracted text.

This website
This website is a static site. It does not use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request (including your IP address) to Google when the page loads. If you use the contact form, it simply opens your own email app; nothing is submitted to our servers.
05App permissions
ForgeScan only asks for permissions when you use a feature that needs them. You can revoke any permission at any time in your phone's Settings.

06How information is used
The limited technical information described above is used to:
- show advertising that keeps ForgeScan free;
- diagnose crashes and improve stability and performance;
- deliver notifications you have allowed;
- offer app updates and occasionally ask you to rate the app;
- prevent fraud and abuse of advertising, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information to build a profile about you, and we never use the content of your documents for any purpose.
08Advertising choices
Ads in ForgeScan may be personalised based on your advertising ID. You can control this at any time:
- On Android 12 or later, go to Settings › Privacy › Ads (or Settings › Google › Ads) and choose Delete advertising ID.
- On older versions, choose Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
09Retention
Documents and settings stored in ForgeScan remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Exported files remain in your Downloads or Gallery until you delete them.
Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Advertising and messaging data is retained by Google according to its own retention policies.
10Deleting your data
Because we do not hold your documents, you are in full control of deleting them:
- Delete a document: tap the menu (⋮) on a document and choose Delete.
- Clear temporary files: go to Settings › Clear temporary files to remove cached previews and exports.
- Delete everything: uninstall ForgeScan, or go to Android Settings › Apps › ForgeScan › Storage › Clear storage. This permanently removes all documents and settings stored inside the app.
- Exported files: delete them from your Downloads folder or Gallery.
To request deletion of any diagnostic data associated with your installation, email info@multiforgex.com with the subject "Data deletion request". Since we have no account system, we may not be able to link such data to you; we will explain what we can do in our reply.
11Security
Your documents are kept in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. Data sent by third-party SDKs is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we recommend you keep your phone protected with a screen lock and keep backups of important documents.
12Children's privacy
ForgeScan is a general-purpose productivity app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
13Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — you may have the right to:
- access the personal information held about you;
- correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including personalised advertising;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Most of these rights can be exercised directly on your device as described in Section 8 and Section 10. For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
14International transfers
The Google services used by ForgeScan may process information on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Google relies on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.
15Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves or the law changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will notify you within the app. Continued use of ForgeScan after an update means you accept the revised policy.
